KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO Youth wing must work harder to give its members a boost of new fighting spirit and strength in continuing the party struggles, said State Umno Liaison Chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
He said as front liners for the party, the UMNO Youth should not be afraid or dispirited when facing pressures and challenges.
“UMNO Youth and all party members in general must be resilient in facing pressure and challenges because UMNO is now an opposition party. They must work harder so to boost the fighting spirit among party members and so UMNO will continue to be stronger and stable,” he stressed.
Hajiji said this when meeting with UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and UMNO divisional youth chiefs at the Sabah UMNO building here today.
Earlier, Hajiji received a courtesy call by Dr Asyraf at his office. Dr Asyraf was in Sabah to attend the UMNO Youth’s Semarak Semangat Bangkit Kembali programme at five UMNO divisions.
Hajiji also reminded the Youth leaders to continue with works to get closer with the people at grassroots level.
“In providing services to the people, we need to be hardworking and be with them. Treat the people courteously regardless of their race, religion and political belief.
“If we serve with sincerity and honesty and not for personal interest, the people will see it and assess what we have done for them,” he stressed.
Praising the UMNO Youth leadership for their strong will in continuing the party struggles, Hajiji also stressed that Sabah UMNO is still strong and have members loyal to the party.
Also present during the event were State UMNO Youth Chief, Ir Aziz Julkarnain, its Assistant Secretary, Ir Rohan Ahmat, Information Chief Mazlan Joehari Manan, Assistant Treasurer, Haji Fadli Juanas, Youth excos and division chiefs. -By LSK/BNN
