KIULU: Vice President of STAR, Terence Sinti today announced his resignation from the party.
“I thank STAR but I need to move on. Thus, I am announcing my resignation as the STAR Vice President, Youth Chief and the STAR Kiulu Divisional Chief,” he said in a press statement.
“I am leaving STAR to take my political struggle to the next level; which is to unite the Momogun people but more so, to ensure I can assist my people to be able to compete economically and at the same time, achieved my long time desire; for us all to be united,” he added.
He said, “My supporters and I are seriously considering to join a party in the government which is actively seeking unity of the Momogun people.
“I am convinced I have to move on and be more effective in my humble service for the people, more so in the Tuaran area.”
Sinti has long been the STAR leader in Kiulu and candidate including in the 2018 general elections. He garnered 2,457 votes, third behind Jo-Anna Sue Henley Rampas of Warisan (2,893) and winner Datuk Joniston Bangkuai of PBS (4,336).
He said, “When I joined politics, all I wanted to do was to help the people, in particular the people of Kiulu.
“In STAR, we tried to do our best. Yet the people which we seek to represent are suffering. This is not what I had envisioned when I decided to join politics years ago.”

“The people are suffering for the lack of sustainable income. The worst hit are the Momogun community. Why are our people the poorest?”
“I really believed STAR would have been the perfect platform for me to humbly assist my people especially in Tuaran Parliamentary seat. But sad to say, it was a futile exercise; on my part and the fact that I could not garner enough support for my cause.”
He said he was leaving STAR to take his political struggle to the next level; which was to unite the Momogun people.
“And more so, to ensure I can assist my people to be able to compete economically and at the same time, achieved my long time desire. For us all to be united.”
Unity is paramount to achieve political stability so that we could address the sufferings of the people effectively, he stated.
