KOTA KINBALU: In less than two years, Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal has forgotten how his party came into power through frogging mechanics.
Sabah UMNO Youth Chief Abdul Aziz Julkarnain in a statement said history shows how a democratically elected government and a rightfully sworn-in Chief Minister after GE14 had been ousted by way of unethical political tricks through a crafty plot and devious manipulation.
Hence, Shafie’s statement on wanting to ”stop this culture of jumping” is overdramatic and a mockery to his own political games in May 2018, he stated.
According to him, he was shocked when he read the news and hope that he was merely making a joke.
“I wonder if Shafie is fantasizing to introduce an anti-defection or anti-hopping law in Sabah because such law could possibly be in breach of Article 10 of the Federal Constitution which guarantees freedom of association and by virtue of a Supreme Court landmark judgment in 1992”, he said.
Even more shocking when his supporters including ministers brazenly commending him for his so-called principles and making a stand, he stressed.
“I wish to remind the good people of Sabah to not be duped by this type of hypocrisy. The law of attraction says: “likes attracts likes”.”
“I also wish to remind Shafie and his boys and girls, the Warisan government is the real and classical example of ‘backdoor government’ that is formed by turncoats and leaping frogs,” he stated.
“While it is true that the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government was due to change of political stands by some Members of Parliament, Yang di Pertuan Agong through his wisdom had conducted the process of appointing the rightful Prime Minister properly and diligently.”-pr/BNN
