KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) in collaboration with Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd on Monday handed over 100 cartons of Spritzer mineral  water and some 5 carton of Sabah tea bags to the Sabah Police Contingent, in support of police personnel who are fighting Covid-19 in the fronrlines.

The said relief items which were sponsored by Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd were handed over by FCAS president, Tan Sri T.C Goh, in a simple handing-over ceremony conducted at the Police Headquarters in Kepayan. On hand to receive the items was Dato Mazli Bin Mazlan, Deputy Commisioner of Police Sabah, who was accompanied by Director of Administration Tuan Zabidi, Sabah Traffic Police Chief Tuan Mohammad Zanzuri and Sabah Police Administration Chief Tuan Douglas.

Meanwhile, T.C Goh was accompanied by FCAS Treasurer-General David Chan and Vice President Fung Chun Fatt. Also present at the occasion was Advisor of Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd Mr MC Goh and its Kota Kinabalu Branch Manager Mr Chew Ming Fong.

In his brief speech, TC who is also the President of the Federation of Malaysia Chinese Associations (Huazong) explained that the said move was part of the ongoing nationwide fundraising campaign spearheaded by Huazong in aid of those fighting Covid-19 in the frontlines throughout the country.

He hoped that the bottled drinking water and tea bags would help to hydrate those police personnel who are working in the frontlines during the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) period which has been extended from 31 March to 14 April.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Mazli thanked both FCAS and Yee Lee for their contribution to the Sabah police contingent. Lahad Datu-hailed Mazli also praised TC who was a former police officer, for not forgetting police personnel who are currently on duty in frontlines to enforce the MCO. Besides this, he also commended Yee Lee for carrying out its corporate social responsibility in this difficult time.-pr/BNN
