AVID golfers can now visit the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club in Tuaran, to tee off and enjoy the 18-hole golf course.
However, players and their friends must adhere to the strict Standard Operations Order (SOP) to flatten the curve of the Cornonavirus Pandemic in the State, even during this Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) implemented on June 6.
According to Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club General Manager Alfons Olim golfers must adhere to the new normal where guests must follow the SOP; body temperature check and usage of hand sanitisers when entering the establishment.
“We are not compromising on health at this time as our main concern is the well being of golfers, other guests and our colleagues,” he stressed adding that golfers are also required to carry their own golf bags which will be disinfected with permission.
“After their golf bags are disinfected they can use the buggy which are also disinfected before usage. We permit only one golfer per buggy and caddie services are not available for the moment. The caddie services will be implemented when its announced by the authority. We may use our own staff for the services as we know their health conditions better,” he shared.
According to him, no one have complained about the guidelines and he believed that their guests understand that it is standard procedure and that in fact, it is for their own safety.
To stress on the safety procedure, the locker rooms and showers are temporarily closed and the tables at the golfer terrace has been arranged a metre apart for the purpose of social distancing .
He shared that morning tee-off starts at 6.30am and finish at 11.30am. After they complete the game, the buggies are disinfected for afternoon golfers who usually come between 11.30am and 4.30pm.
According to him, the response to the reopening of the golf course has been very encouraging as golfers are eager to hit the course after the long confinement in the house, adding that bookings have been tremendous with weekends recording 100 to 120 people.
They are currently holding a promotion RM105 per game during the weekdays and RM120 during the public holidays and weekends. The rates including insurance and buggy.
