KOTA MARUDU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)  lost another leader here when appointed division vice chairman for  P.167 Kudat Datuk Seri Rudy Awah announced his decision to leave the party today.

Recently, their division chairperson Rahimah Majid was expelled by the Central leadership Council (MPP) and the deputy Division Chairman Mohd Reza Adinata Kusenin resigned.

In announcing his resignation today, Rudy was joined by his party leaders and PKR members who supported his decision to leave the party and relinquish his posts.

In his speech he said he was sad to leave the party and did not bear any ill-will towards its leaderships, mainly Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Federal level and Datuk Christina Liew in the State level.

“I am leaving this party  because the leadership in Kudat is not honest and sincere in its dealing as shown in a recent meeting. This meeting was to determine who would take over the mantle of leadership in Kudat,” he elaborated.

He added that when their division chairperson Rahimah Majid was expelled by the Central leadership Council (MPP) and the deputy Division Chairman Mohd Reza Adinata Kusenin resigned, it was only constitutional that the two vacancies be filled by any of the three Vice Chairman.

He said he was however shocked to find out that his name was omitted from the three known nominations, with the excuse that his name was not listed and had yet to be registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

“I was shocked as I know my appointment was registered during a meeting in PKR Kudat Division,” he said adding that in the recent meeting he was asked to leave the hall as he had no right to be there. He said he complied with the directive and left.

He said he made the decision to leave the party with encouragement from his fellow members, as they felt that the division leadership was not fair to him.

According to him, they will focus on the Kudat division as independents but they will be mulling on which party to join soon.

“We support the present leadership, under Perikatan Nasional (PN) with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the helm. We believe in his leadership with efficiencies in dealing with the security, economy, social and education among others.”

“The Prime Minister proved his responsibility and care to the people; a good, commendable and proven policy. This is the reality and in fact this is a manifestation of the prime minister’s leadership.”

Rudy and his members later pulled down the PKR flag in a symbolic ceremony and took off their PKR shirts.

Some 200 attended the event, which was held at a hall in Kota Marudu.-BNN
