KOTA KINABALU, Pasir Puteh MP Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh should retract his remark on the Christian Bible, said Japiril Suhaimin.
Japiril ,who is Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Deputy President cum Treasurer General said that PAS top leaders should put a stop on such insensitive remarks by its leaders to prevent further polarisation among the races and religions of the country.
“Time and again, we are faced with leaders uttering without much thought that Malaysia has a multi-racial and multi-religious society.
“Having lived together in this beloved country since Malaysia was born, it is sad that race and religion are still being politicised by certain quarters detrimental towards a harmonious community that we all want and cherish.
“Don’t forget that you are one of country’s law-makers. Put importance on restraint, sensitivity and consideration of others’ feelings especially when it comes to religion and race.
Those who are elected and entrusted to defend the constitution and its sanctity are sadly enough, pulling apart the very system and tenets that are supposed to protect us all.
Islam is a good religion and we expect PAS leaders to be wise, compassionate, considerate and thoughtful.-pr/BNN
