KOTA KINABALU: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Hospital received RM1.5 million from the State Government for their help in conducting Covid-19 tests.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor presented the contribution to UMS Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Associate Prof Ts Dr Ramzah Dambul in a brief ceremony at PPNS near here Thursday.

In the same ceremony, Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Ir Shahelmy Yahya who is also the president of the Sabah Council of Social Service (SCSS) presented 5,000 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the frontliners in the state to the Chief Minister.

Several NGOs namely Upcycled Shack, Sabah Anti-Tuberculosis Association (Sabata), Sabah Volunteers Association as well as the Red Crescent Association have joint-hand to prepare the PPE.

Meanwhile, Bank Rakyat presented RM30,000 to the State Disaster Fund for victims of the recent floods in the state.

Handing over the contribution to the Chief Minister was Bank Rakyat Sabah Regional Head, Saini Hammade.

Also on hand was State Secretary Datuk Sr Safar Untong and Deputy State Secretary (Administration) Datuk Hajah Masnah Matsalleh.-pr/BNN
