KOTA MARUDU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president John Charles Mikat welcomed the statement of concern by Deputy Chief Minister and Sabah Works Minister Datuk Bung Moktar Radin, on road conditions and clean water supply problems in Kota Marudu during a working visit to the district recently.

According to John, who is also the SAPP Chairman of CLC Tandek, problems such as narrow and bad road conditions, congestion at the entrance to Kota Marudu town as well as water supply problems have been lingering for more than a decade.

“Clean water supply, water supply disruptions for up to a week often occur, which complicates the daily needs of the people of Marudu, because water is main and essential need,” added John.

Marudu does not only faces bad road conditions in rural areas but also main roads leading to Pekan Kota Marudu which are often congested even outside peak hours. The increase in the number of vehicles and narrow road conditions are among the causes of this problem.

“Previously, there were plans to build twin roads, but have not been implemented until now. We hope Datuk Bung, the minister in charge to rectify the problem as soon as possible this time,” said John.-pr/BNN
