KOTA KINABALU: Chairman of Kota Kinabalu Journalist Association (KKJA), Jimmy Goh, paid a courtesy visit on Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Datin Lucy Yong, at Pusat Pentadbiran Negeri Sabah (PPNS), Tuesday.
Goh, who was recently elected KKJA Chairman, during the Association’s AGM, said the courtesy visit on Lucy, was among others, to hand over her the list of journalists who have yet to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
“Journalists as frontliners need to receive the vaccine not only to protect themselves but also to ensure their family members have a peace of mind as journalists, especially reporters and photographers are out in the field daily.
“Datin Lucy kindly accepted the list and will pass it to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor for his evaluation and consideration as well as consultation with the health authorities,” Goh said, adding the list contains 50 people from the media fraternity who would want to be vaccinated.
Goh said hopefully the new Executive Committee of KKJA would be able to pay a courtesy call on the Chief Minister soon.
Also present was the Chief Minister’s Press Officer, Liaw Sin Kuang.-pr/BNN
