KOTA KINABALU: The State government’s strategic investment arm, Warisan Harta Sabah Sdn Bhd has been rebranded as Qhazanah Sabah, echoing its support to the Halatuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ).
“This rebranding exercise showcases Qhazanah Sabah’s strong commitment to achieving its objective of transforming Sabah into a progressive and developed State in Malaysia,” said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
“It is the State government’s hope that Qhazanah Sabah will continue to excel and contribute to the development of Sabah,” he said at the launch of the new corporate brand at the State Administrative Centre (PPNS) near here Thursday.
The State government-linked company (GLC) was founded on April 6, 1995, the brainchild of then Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
Its prime objective was to be Sabah’s economic development catalyst and it has an excellent track record of paying over RM200 million in dividends to the State government since its establishment, while actively allocating funds for business growth and investments.
Qhazanah Sabah generated revenues from its subsidiary companies with business ventures ranging from ports management and services, finance, telecommunication, motor vehicle ownership and transportation-related services, renewable energy, property development as well as healthcare and medical services.
Its latest business highlight was the rebranding of one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Kojasa Holdings Berhad which soon will launch its digital platform grocery store known as KOJASA Mart, through the collaboration with Epost Express (Sabah). Qhazanah Sabah also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Go Auto Holdings Sdn Bhd and Gemilang Coachwork Sdn Bhd to explore business opportunities in the automotive manufacturing and transportation sectors.
This has proven the company’s capabilities to invent and adapt during this challenging time to strengthen and expand its business in line with its goal to diversify the State Budget.
Salleh later presented Qhazanah Sabah’s logo which symbolises a strong and solid return through the unfurling spiral blocks that expand outwards in a gradient to form the letter “Q”, to the Chief Minister.-pr/BNN
