KOTA KINABALU: A veteran PBS leader, Datuk Seri Panglima Radin Malleh reminds politicians especially the representatives of the people of their duties and responsibilities.
They must have all time the people at hearts to look after of their well beings and the development progress of the state and NOT being busy to seize power from an already established state government.
The former  Sabah Minister of Rural Development, who hails from the Murut community said that such a political manoeuvring tactic of seizing power from the back door is already obsolete and an uncivilised way of gaining power.
If such activity is allowed, there is no point to have elections.
Still, he added that during election, money politics should not be used to dupe and fool the people for their votes would be worthless and the state would lead to stagnancy.
“Well, if you cannot get the required majority then by convention the party which has the biggest number of seats has the ‘right’ to form the government assisted by other party or parties to form a coalition government just like the Unity Government at federal level now,” said Radin.
“On this score, we should appreciate the Prime Minister who has been very patient for about 24 years.
The people representatives should be focusing and concentrating in serving the people and bringing development progress to the state of Sabah which has been neglected for the past 50 or 60 years.
“Now that the federal government is not only listening BUT respecting and honouring the formation of Malaysia apropos the MA 63,” said Radin.
“So, the state government should seize this opportunity to reclaim its rights and interests as enshrined in the MA63 as well as in the federal constitution.
“On the same token, UMNO should be reprimanded for its act in reneging its mutual understanding  by at least reducing half of its representation in the state cabinet and giving it to PH representatives who have pledged full support to the state government,” said Radin Malleh.-pr/BNN
