KOTA KINABALU: Some 30 households in Kg Kimihang, Kudat are suffering from lack of water supply.
A Villager Ronnie Onginjan said due to the dry taps, 200 people were going through difficulties as they didn’t have water for their every day use.
He said they couldn’t wash their clothes or take a bath properly due to the lack of water
According to him, they can purchase drinking water, but buying water to bath and wash was not easy due to economic constraints.
“Some had to look for old wells to get water from,” he said adding that it was extremely difficult as not all were able do this.
Ronnie who is a producer of Virgin Coconut oil said, his operations was also impacted due to the lack of water
“It has been two weeks of dry taps now. Toilets are getting putrid which is disgusting when it’s indoors,”he said.
According to Ronnie, he had informed the Water Department about their problem and lack of water supply but to date the tap was still dry.
He had also sent a formal letter of complaint to the department in question.
He expressed his hopes that the relevant authorities would look into their problem and resolve the matter as soon as possible.-BNN
