KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Pakatan Harapan coalition remained silent and instead blamed the slow progress on the part of the Sabah government, said Gee Tien Siong.
Gee, who is a vice president of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), said the federal Finance Ministry (MoF) approved a water supply allocation of RM320.25 million last month, but the fund has not been received yet.
“Regarding the water shortage issue that significantly affects people’s daily lives, Kota Kinabalu MP, Chan Foong Hin, only puts up a show to deceive the voters, while Sandakan MP, Vivian Wong, urges the Sabah government to expedite the replacement of old water pipes.
“These two DAP MPs dare not demand the federal MoF to expedite the disbursement of funds to Sabah. Instead, they illogically shift the responsibility onto the Sabah government,” emphasised Gee.
He also reminded Sabah voters that during the Sandakan by-election in 2019, then federal Minister of Finance, Lim Guan Eng of DAP, announced the federal government had approved 49 development projects worth RM2.28 billion.
“Has Sandakan already benefited from the additional RM2.2 billion? Why is the Sandakan MP still incessantly talking about old water pipes nowadays?”
Gee said DAP MPs in Sabah, while entrusted by the voters, only spend their days engaging in empty talk and doing nothing substantial.
“They are MPs, they are ‘dutied’ to get approved allocations to Sabah, and utilise it for the well-being of Sabahans.”-pr/BNN
