KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) will be hosting a Fair from October 13 to 15 this year at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
During the event, 60 MATTA members and fair participants will showcase their offerings to potential travellers and holidaymakers.
Christina Wahida Kong, the Chairman of MATTA Sabah/Labuan, announced in a press conference today that the fair aims to attract 15,000 visitors over the three-day period.
These estimated visitors are projected to generate more than RM25 million in revenue.
The fair is deemed timely for those who wish to purchase packages or travel to desired destinations during the upcoming holidays, such as Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year.
International travel opportunities will be abundant, with a wide range of destinations available including the Balkans, Alaska, Europe, UAE, and many others.
Among the preferred packages, Muslim tour packages, pilgrimage, umrah, and cruises are the top choices. Attendees can expect exciting umrah packages to be available during the fair.
Those who buy packages or destinations at that time will be accorded one lucky draw ticket for each RM100 purchase.
They stand to win flight tickets to Melbourne, Saigon, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur among others, worth RM30,000 for 15 destinations. Other prizes to be won are hotel accommodations.
MATTA welcomes the participation of aviation companies Firefly and MASwings as the official airlines that serves as a drawing factor for custoimers.
“We are also proud to have Bank Rakyat as the MATTA Fair’s official bank,” Christina Kong said.
Admission is free with the opening hours from 10am to 9pm for the three day-fair, which will run from Friday to Sunday.-BNN
