KOTA KINABALU,: Participants at the “Sunset Beach Party” held at the Likas Bay here, in conjunction with the 9th Sabah International Dragon Boat Race were astonished by the appearance of a spectacular “dragon boat” cloud formation in the sky, yesterday.
The unique and spectacular cloud formation, resembling a dragon boat sailing majestically across the sky, amazed everyone present at the occasion. The said rare and auspicious phenomenon was captured on camera by many participants and spectators.
The organiser for the event revealed this in a brief statement issued today.
Likas Bay, often described as “one of the world’s most beautiful sunset beaches” in Kota Kinabalu, is also the traditional venue for conducting the annual Dragon Boat Race event.
This year, 9th Sabah International Dragon Boat Race which is hosted by the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) led by Tan Sri T.C Goh, is also listed as one of the key activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.
The three-day event commenced yesterday with the “Sunset Beach Party” to welcome the participating teams of the Dragon Boat Race.-pr/BNN
