KIULU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has consistently proven its sincerity in fighting for the rights and interests of the people of Sabah, said the party’s information chief, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
He said PBS’s unwavering stand over the decades, despite changing political tides, reflected its true commitment to Sabahans.
“PBS leaders such as Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili once faced immense pressure and even arrests for standing up to federal dominance. This is proof of our sincerity and dedication to the people,” said Joniston, who is also the Kiulu assemblyman.
Speaking at a meet-the-people programme in Kampung Kotunuan Lama on Friday, Joniston said PBS believes Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is the most credible platform to carry Sabah’s aspirations forward.
“GRS brings together local voices and ensures political stability while pursuing development for the people. Within this coalition, PBS continues to play a leading role in advancing Sabahans’ aspirations,” he said, adding that PBS remains steadfast in its unity and sincerity in championing the people’s cause.
Joniston, who is also GRS information chief, commended the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in uniting local parties under the GRS umbrella.
“We are now in a new era, where the spirit of GRS is about unity and cooperation for Sabah’s future. PBS is committed to working alongside its coalition partners to build lasting stability and meaningful progress for the state,” he said.-pr/BNN
