KOTA KINABALU: More than 10,000 people from all walks of life attended the Chinese New Year Open House hosted by the State Government at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on Tuesday.
The event was graced by Head of State Tun Musa Aman and his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin together with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
Later, Tun Musa and Hajiji accompanied by Tourism, Environment and Culture Minister Datuk Jafry Arifin led the drum beating ceremony to mark the opening of the open house.
Tun Musa and Hajiji as well as other invited guests also performed the Chinese New Year tradition of tossing the Yee Sang.
Guests were entertained by various performances from local artists and dance troupes.-pr/BNN
