NABAWAN: Warisan President Shafie Apdal is a highly irresponsible leader for suggesting that people who have been infected with Covid-19 should be allowed to vote.
Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman said he is willing to put people’s lives in danger because of politics and greed for power.
He wondered if Shafie is aware that the number of global Covid-19 infections has surpassed 30 million and number of deaths is almost touching 1 million.
“Moreover does he realize that there are 5 new clusters in Sabah and number of cases is rising rapidly in the state?”he said.
Musa was speaking at meet-the-people session with Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for Nabawan, Ghani Yassin today.
He said a leader should be protecting people’s lives, not endangering them.
Earlier in Sook, he said the people are wise enough to see incompetence of the Warisan led government, which includes its ally PKR.
He said Shafie’s government has failed to revive an economy that started dwindling when it took over in 2018.
“Please stop blaming the slump in economic growth on
Covid19,” he said m.
Musa said Sabah’s economy started taking a hit long before the first wave of the pandemic, spiralling downward from the highest in decades at 8.2 percent in 2017 to 1.5 percent in 2018 and continue weakening to 0.5 percent in 2019.
“So don’t deny yourself this opportunity to change back (ubah balik) the government. If you care about Sabah and the future of your children and grandchildren, please vote wisely,” he said.
He was speaking at a program with PN candidate Eliron Angin who is contesting for Sook.- pr/BNN
