KOTA KINABALU: The relevant authorities should take action against individuals with facebook post that insulted Christianity.

NGO Angkatan Perpaduan Sabah (APS) vice president Paul Kadau said he had lodged a police report on a woman who wrote such statements in Facebook recently.

He said the woman should be investigated as what she posted was detrimental to the peace and harmony among Sabahans of various ethnic groups and religious beliefs.

He said besides lodging a report against the woman he had also lodged other police reports against those who insulted Christianity but no arrests or other actions have been taken so far.

” Maybe because of this, these individuals are not deterred and keep on posting such unsavoury remarks and insults against Christianity ,” he stated.

According to him, actions should be taken against these people so that such insults will stop immediately.

Recently, Paul had stated that the woman concerned had posted remarks in Facebook that was insulting and disrespectful to Christians.

He said such postings were uncalled for and could evoke disharmony among Sabahans from various religious and ethnic background.

The account with the photo of woman slandered christians in Sabah with her comments, he shared where
among others, she stated that Christians in Sabah were beggars that fed on hand outs from the government.

She also stated that funds acquired by the church from the government were used for sexual rituals.

“This is totally slanderous and blasphemous as the church is an institution that’s removed from politics and racial differences,” Paul said.

He stressed that this was a greatly offensive to christians and Christianity especially when she said that Christians and our Lord Jesus are cursed.

According to him, the woman attributed her statement to the Warisan government, also stating that 10 thousands has supported her statement.

The woman’s FB profile with birth year 1987 stated Lahad Datu as her hometown.

Paul said this irresponsible posting hurt the people of Sabah who live in harmony since time immemorial.

“We Sabahans of various ethnic groups and religious beliefs have been living together peacefully for a long time. It’s part of our culture. The remarks by this woman is irresponsible and can tarnish our reputation as the epitome of racial and religious tolerance.”

“We have never spoken ill or slandered our Muslim brothers and sisters like that. I’m sure most of our Muslim friends do not agree with her and are appalled by her ignorance.”

“We hope that this person will repent of her wrongdoing and think properly before putting out remarks like this.”

Paul later lodged a police report on this matter.-pr/BNN
