KUALA LUMPUR: Individuals and corporations who are concerned with education of children from poor families, and are keen to help, can now donate to the Huazong Education Fund (HEF) via their e-wallet and QR code transfer.
Huazong President cum Chairman of HEF Tan Sri T.C Goh said it doesn’t matter whether the donation is a big or small amount, stressing that every single sen counts.
“What really matters is that each and every one of us chip in for a noble cause of helping the poor students to have access to education without hindrance,” he said.
He noted that the said e-transfer scheme was the second part of Huazong crowd-funding initiative in aid of the poor students, following the launch of its mobile phone package, last month.
He was convinced that the said scheme would better reach and facilitate the public to donate to HEF directly, at their convenience, and there’s also no limit to the amount of donation.
While acknowledging that ‘quality education’ has become increasingly important nowadays, he however pointed out that amidst the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic, many families have been impacted and are struggling to support their children’s education.
“Hence, what’s more important now is to ensure that children from these affected families get to complete their education,” he said.
He underscored that no matter how bad a family’s financial situation is, it should never compromise the children’s education. Huazong thus hoped through its Education Fund to rally public support to help students from the poor families to complete their education, without worries.
He reiterated that the public can now start donating to HEF via all the e-wallets currently available in the market and by scanning the QR code of their respective bank to Huazong’s official bank account at: “THE  FEDERATION  OF  CHINESE  ASSOCIATIONS”: RHB ‪21432536102640‬
