KOTA KINABALU: As future leaders and pillars of the nation, our youths must stay away from drug addiction, stressed Tan Sri T.C Goh, Chairman of Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), Sabah Joint Committee.
He thus opined that it was important and necessary to instil in our youths the right philosophy of life, healthy lifestyle and good moral conduct.
Goh, who is also President of The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) and The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) stressed this while officiating at the opening ceremony of the anti-drug seminar jointly organised by MCPF Sabah and Ji Her Charity And Moral Uplifting Society (Ji Her), at the auditorium of All Saints Secondary School here, yesterday.
Also in attendance were, Ji Her vice presidents, *Sean Ong and Wong Kim Boon, Principal of SM All Saints, Dr Mary Gambidau, DSP Lee Nyuk Kim,* the Head of Kota Kinabalu District Public Safety and Crime Prevention Unit, Vice President of All Saints Alumni, Ivy Tseu, Advisor of Ji Her Youth Division, *Tommy Chaw, Organising Chairman Lee Su Yee, Ji Her Youth Chief Monex Moo, its Treasurer Hong Jia Hao,* and the anti-drug campaign ambassador cum speaker for the seminar, Addy Leong, among others.
Goh was also glad to note that Malaysia is currently progressing well as a nation, and likewise, Sabah too is currently striving to achieve its grand vision of a progressive and prosperous state.
“This is our vision. It’s important that we must have a vision in life, whether when pursuing our studies or our career, so as to better motivate us to achieve our goals in life!” he said.
Goh who is also Honorary President of Ji Her also noted that the theme of the seminar, urging the youths to stay away from drugs, was well in line with the vision of “adopting the right life philosophy”, as drugs are the ‘No. 1 enemy of the nation’.
He also recognized that schools played an important role in instilling the right values and life philosophy in the students, as reflected in the overwhelming support given to the said seminar.
He thus hoped the students would fully benefit from attending the seminar, especially by adopting the life philosophy of staying away from drug addiction.
“Let’s stay away from drug addiction and make it our shared responsibility to combat it!” he concluded.-pr/BNN
