KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia United Nations Country Team (UNCT) is keen to cooperate with the Sabah State Government in advancing development priorities in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
UN Resident Coordinator for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, Karima El Korri said this when meeting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor at Menara Kinabalu, near here today.
This was El Korri’s first mission to Sabah as the UN resident coordinator.
During the meeting, El Korri also discussed ways for the 22 UN agencies in Malaysia to
strengthen their engagement in Sabah with the Chief Minister.
She assured that the Malaysia UNCT is fully committed to supporting Sabah with the
Sustainable Development Goals as its guiding framework.
Also in El Korri’s entourage were the Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office and
Strategic Planning, Juanita Joseph and Senior Economist, Dr Richard Marshall.-pr/BNN
