KOTA KINABALU – In a warm welcome to the attendees of the Meet-The-Experts programme, Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai expressed his pleasure at their presence and excitement to introduce them to the captivating attractions of Sabah.
Addressing the Singaporean travel agents, during the business-to- business (B28) seminar under the “Meet-The-Experts programine”, recently, Datuk Joniston emphasised their crucial role in shaping the tourism landscape, not only in Singapore but also in the destinations they promote.
According to him, the purpose of the programme was to equip them with the necessary knowledge about Sabah’s destinations and enable them to effectively sell Sabah to their clients.
He said, Sabah, known for its rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and abundant natural beauty, offers a wide array of unique experiences waiting to be explored. From the lush rainforests of Danum Valley to the pristine beaches of Sipadan, Sabah has something to cater to every traveler’s preferences.
The Assistant Minister also highlighted the significance of the direct flight route between Singapore and Kota Kinabalu, which has greatly enhanced accessibility for travelers from Singapore and beyond. Leveraging this convenient and efficient connection is crucial to ensuring seamless travel experiences for guests.
Singapore, being a bustling hub of commerce, culture, and tourism, attracts millions of visitors each year. Sabah, with its unique offerings, stands to benefit greatly from tapping into this vibrant market. Singaporean travelers, seeking new and authentic experiences, will find Sabah to be a treasure trove of adventure and discovery.
Joniston emphasised the importance of forging strong partnerships and collaborations between Singaporean travel agents and Sabah’s tourism industry.
By doing so, mutually beneficial opportunities can be created, driving tourism growth and prosperity for both parties. Together, they can showcase the best of what Sabah has to offer and inspire travelers to explore the North Borneo destination, he said.
The Assistant Minister expressed gratitude to the attendees for their participation and urged them to work together in unlocking the full potential of Sabah’s tourism industry, creating unforgettable memories for travelers from around the world.
The business-to- business (B28) seminar recently under the “Meet-The-Experts programine followed by a 6- day, 5-night familiarisation trip (FAM Trip) to various destinations in Sabah to showcase the Malaysian Borneo as an exciting and value for money travel destination.
It was hosted by Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with the Sabah Tourism Board and Sabah Trade and Tourism Office Singapore, where 20 travel agents from Singapore had the opportunity to connect with 26 local representatives, including travel agents, tourism product owners and hoteliers from Sabah.
