KOTA KINABALU:  Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Christina Liew, extended a warm welcome to Hong Kong’s famous actor, Hugo Tsz-Hang Wong, during his courtesy call on Monday.

Liew encouraged the 42-year-old first-time visitor to explore more of Sabah’s destinations, including the beautiful islands off Kota Kinabalu.

“Since you are fascinated by Sabah’s natural beauty and adventure tourism, we hope you will consider shooting a movie here in the near future. We will support you,” she stated, referencing Wong’s acclaimed roles in films such as “The White Storm,” “Line Walker,” and “As The Light Goes Out.”

Sharing his thrilling experiences, Wong expressed his enjoyment during his visit to Dreamer’s Island Sepanggar, where he tried sea walking and parachuting, in addition to touring Kinabalu Park and Kundasang.

“I have fallen in love with the environmental beauty of Kinabalu Park. The air here is clean and cool, too. It is an ideal place for making a movie,” he remarked.

Accompanying the actor were prominent Kota Kinabalu businessman Datuk Kapitan Li Su Fook and movie director Taddy Ng from Hong Kong. Kapitan Li was the one who introduced Wong to Sabah when they met in Hong Kong last year.-pr/BNN
