KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has announced that either March 20, 2026 or March 23, 2026 will be observed as an additional public holiday, depending on the actual date of Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year, in line with the Prime Minister’s recent announcement.
Under a Special Government Gazette dated March 18, 2026, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Head of State) has designated the following as additional public holidays – March 20, 2026, if Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on March 21, 2026 or March 23, 2026, if Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on March 20, 2026.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Anwar Ibrahim had announced the same dates as additional Hari Raya holidays during his visit to Sabah last Sunday.-pr/BNN
