KOTA KINABALU: In conjunction with the Harvest Festival celebration Hap Seng Realty (KK I) Sdn. Bhd. and Hap Seng Properties Development Sdn.Bhd. organised a fun-filled celebration at their iconic Plaza Shell green-building located in the heart of KK City.
During the event various activities were featured which include a Mini Harvest Princess Beauty Contest for children, Butod-eating Contest and a Mini Tamu featuring handicrafts and local delicacies.
The celebration was made merrier with exciting games and lively activities conducted by the Astro Radio Era and Hitz.FM Cruisers.
Held and organised for the first-time ever, Plaza Shell’s Mini Harvest Princess Beauty Contest was a huge hit with 32 participants competing to win the title. Each contestant displayed their colorful and intricately designed traditional costumes with flare and grace.
Janecy Joyce John, 12, from Kampung Babagon, Penampang emerged as the winner in her Dusun-Tatana costume from Kuala Penyu while 1st runner up and 2nd runner up went to Meghan Yves Mitchell and Hazel Grace Baary Kaaling respectively.
Deputy Regional Director of Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad, Joanne Wendy Chung crowned Janecy and presented her the cash prize of RM1,000.00 along with a trophy, a sash and vouchers generously donated by Plaza Shell’s tenants.
The contest was judged by Victor Gerard, Bo Tiza Disimon and Cinta Bosi.
The audience was further entertained by a butod-eating contest where five volunteers from the crowd were selected to participate. The crowd cheered the contestants on while they chewed and swallowed their way to try to grab the first placing prize of RM388.00.
The event continued with the Mini Tamu activity participated by Plaza Shell’s tenants and games and activities were conducted by the ASTRO Radio crew. Live-broadcast by ASTRO Radio Era was featured throughout the event.
Besides promoting local culture and traditions, the event hoped to introduce and create awareness to the public on the variety of outlets available in Plaza Shell. The types of retail outlets at Plaza Shell range from home-cooked Kadazan cuisine in a fine-dining environment, fresh oven-baked bread, pastries and cakes to an award-winning hair salon outlet.
In Plaza Shell there are fully equipped clinic, physiotherapy center, and conference/function room available for rental at level 13 and not forgetting the scenic and calming gardens at level 3. It boasts accessibility and convenient in a nutshell. Ground Floor to level 2 makes up Plaza Shell’s retails outlets whereas level 3 onwards are the office units.-CE/BNN
