Kampung Sangkir, Kota Belud is a village sited among paddy fields about seven kilometres from the township.
This villagers there comprise of Bajau Sama and Dusuns, and they are mostly paddy planters.
The village chief Amran Mahali shared that they have lived together in peace and harmony tending to the land as paddy planters since time immemorial.
According to him, they want to share their lifestyle with tourists in the long run as a mean of income as well as to perpetuate their traditional norm, by evoking interest among youth in cultivating paddy while offering accommodation through the homestay programme.
