KOTA KINABALU:The coalition of 33 assemblymen representing every political party that was in the 15th State Legislative Assembly remain steadfast in the struggle for truth and justice.

It is our sincere hope that the court will allow a judicial review of the TYT’s decision to dissolve the Sabah State Assembly as we believe he was wrongly advised.
It is important for us to remain united and stay on course in this mission to steer Sabah back onto her right path.

The recent report published in August 2020 by the Statistics Department of Malaysia highlighted that Sabah’s GDP has hit an all time low of 0.5% in 2019 and is proof that Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal led Warisan faction has failed in developing the state and protect the welfare of the people.
Unemployment stood at 5.8% (the worst in the past 20 years) meaning that more then 117,000 Sabahans were left jobless and worried when they welcomed in 2020 earlier this year.

Simply put the dismal figures means many Sabahans have lost their jobs, receive no income and are struggling with their families to make ends meet. This is simply not acceptable.

Furthermore the shocking decline in the growth of our GDP in Sabah for 2 consecutive years (1.5% in 2018 and 0.5% in 2019) shows a dangerous trend of things to come.

Its shameful that for the past two years in a row we are known as the state with the lowest GDP growth rate in the entire Malaysia. The lowest even when compared to the poorest state in the country.
The longer Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal stays in power, Sabah will continue to languish in terms of economic development due to dwindling business activities and lack of foreign direct investments.
As to the entry of Party Cinta Sabah into the state’s political scene, we welcome them.

All of us including the many other parties out there may have differences in opinion but we are all united in purpose, which is to save Sabah from an incompetent administration and to protect and uphold the Constitution of Sabah.

We deserve better. Sabah deserves better.
In managing politics and administering a government it is important to welcome as much fresh new talents on board. These injection of new blood must be balanced with those who already have the wealth of experience with a proven track record.

This will ensure that the younger leaders will be able to learn and tap the invaluable experience of the battle proven elders.

Having steered Sabah in four general elections and helming the captain’s chair for 15 years, my government managed to stablise and spur the local economy to new heights. We as a team have uplifted the dignity of Sabahans in the eyes of the country if not the world. I will let the facts speak for itself.

Our mission is to save this beautiful state of ours before we reach a point of no return in our economy, security and well being.

We must in no uncertain terms preserve the Sabahan way of life, save our Constitution that we hold dear and maintain law and order with the objective of regaining back the trust of investors, both local and foreign, so that we all have a fighting chance to resolve this economic mess left behind by the Warisan administration.

This is not about the journey of one person. It is not about me. Its about all the right minded, hard working law abiding citizens of this great state of ours. Its about you.

I know deep in your hearts you are not supporting this cause just because of me or the 32 other assemblymen.

You are supporting us because you know deep in your hearts we cannot afford to let the outgoing administration do what they have been doing for the past 22 months. They had run down the economy, left a trail of broken promises and destroy livelihoods.

We owe it to ourselves, our children and their children a better life and a better future. We owe it to the generations to come and for that we have to make a stand now. This is our defining moment.

To do so I am tasked with the heavy burden together with 32 other fellow assemblymen who have taken a stand to put things back on track while putting our own personal liberty at risk.

Hence, I call upon everyone to come together and remain united in this common struggle and shared vision to take Sabah out of the economic doldrums and bring back the vibrancy and honour that she deserves. –
