（亞庇7日訊）隨著白米漲價事件愈演愈烈，副首長特別事務官阮天翔建議沙盟將白米進出口的權限，列入即將討論的MA63的備忘錄內，讓沙巴有權限處理白米價格事宜。
他說，現在全國的白米，都屬於國家稻米公司以及旗下沙巴的Sazarice以及Sabarice所壟斷，壟斷的市場以及價格對消費者不友善。
也是沙巴團結黨最高理事的阮天翔表示，因為只有開放的市場，才能確保米價有競爭力；沙巴的白米也不應該被私營化的公司所壟斷，站在照顧沙巴漢的福祉上，沙巴政府更應該趁此機會，要求聯邦下放白米自主權。
他指出，聯邦應該在食品安全上更顯誠意，目前除了通過本地白米特別計劃增加白米產量，而廠商也給予配合，將提高20%產量，白米危機料能於1個月內解決。
但是這也不是長久之計，印度以及巴基斯坦等我國進口白米的主要國家，是否近期內會開放市場還不得而知；反之聯邦應該大力的推動地廣人稀的沙巴以及砂拉越成為我國的糧倉之一。
現階段而言，沙巴稻米自供自足水平僅23%，砂拉越則38%，聯邦應扶助東馬的稻米業，打造沙巴與砂拉越為國家糧倉，以確保國家糧食安全有保障。
阮天翔說，東馬環境得天獨厚，我們為什麼被迫從半島甚至國外進口白米？若是我們能夠自供自給，剩下額外的運輸費用，是不是代表我們沙砂人民能享受更廉價的白米？
他強調，白米是人民日常最主要的生活必需品，聯邦應該多管齊下解決糧食危及，其中包括檢討現有的進出口白米壟斷政策，而是採取更開放的態度，通過自由市場和良性競爭，讓人民受惠。
「聯邦也應該下放權力沙巴政府，與沙巴政府一起全面配合，並協助擴大州內的稻米產量。」-pr/BNN
