他认为，现有的首相署掌管宗教事务部但多年来只倾向于伊斯兰事务和发展，因此建议政府考虑通过首相署或其他认为适当的部门机构，增设非伊斯兰事务部或委员会，以协助政府更有效和系统化处理有关领域的事务和发展。
他强调，国人都了解和尊重伊斯兰在国家和联邦宪法下的地位，这绝对是不容质疑的。但在宪法赋予的各民族宗教信仰和自由发展的多元国情下，如果增设非伊斯兰部或委员会，并不能被视为侵犯或挑战伊斯兰的地位，而是彰显宪法精神和多元国情特征的和谐与正面作法。。
也是沙巴中华大会堂总会长的吴添泉今天发表文告，针对首相署（国会与法律事务）部长拿督斯里旺朱乃迪昨天在记者会澄清政府并没有计划立法管制和限制非穆斯林传播宗教，以及交通部长拿督斯里魏家祥同时也表示内阁从未讨论过相关法案的声明，表示欣慰和欢迎。
有关课题是源自一些媒体引述伊党党报《哈拉卡》早前的报道，指掌管宗教事务的首相署副部长拿督阿末玛索沙里说，政府正在草拟4项新的伊斯兰法，包括其中一项是限制非穆斯林向穆斯林传教的法案，其他则是有关伊斯兰公益金（wakaf）、宗教司和伊斯兰法庭的法案。（较后经过搜寻，哈拉卡网站已经撤下这则报道。）
针对阿末玛索沙里的上述谈话，旺朱乃迪和魏家祥也不约而同表明，宗教事务隶属于州政府的权限。
前者更表示，任何有关宗教的课题必须先咨询各州政府：“我们须先与州政府讨论，看看他们赞成与否，除非所有州属同意，否则我们不能直接在国会提呈。”
吴添泉强调，包括伊斯兰和非伊斯兰，国内各民族的正信宗教信仰和发展都必须受到重视和尊重，以彰显我国的多元国情和“大马一家”精神。
他说，雪州政府在2008年便设立了相信是国内首个州政府级别的“非伊斯兰事务委员会”（去年易名为“雪州佛教、基督教、兴都教、锡克教及道教特别委员会”），为州内非伊斯兰事务发展和拨款提供常年和制度化支援，这项积极和正面的作法是值得所有国、州政府仿效的。
他也说，中央政府不久前也通过团结部让国内非伊斯兰宗教组织申请拨款的作法让人苟同和欢迎，但长远之计，最终应拥有一个类似“非伊斯兰事务”部或委员会，以名正言顺来专司处理，将会更符合政策性和制度化的发展。
他说，除了伊斯兰，国内非伊斯兰事务的发展，包括各团体的庙宇道场、义山墓园和活动计划等，同样需要获得政府长期配合以及机制化拨款资助。-pr/BNN
