KOTA KINABALU: It takes only two weeks for Nexus Karambunai to finish the Davy Jones raft which win the best raft design.
Inspired by one of the characters in the Pirates of Carabiean ‘s movie, the raft was built by the hotels staff with 100% recycle material won the first place in the best raft design at the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Sabah Rafting and Family Day at Tanjung Aru beach recently.
According to general manager Muhammad Irwan Goh (photo), the raft was desingned by
Norman James while Jenifer L. Anap has leading the crew towards the competition.
Although the team only win the third place for the raft race, they made it up by won their second champion as the winner of MAH cheerleading category.
According to Bianah Gipong, the team tiredness and effort of a week was paid back when they was name as the winner for the category.
Mayor Yeo Boon Hai, who officiated the event cingratulated MAH for their effort to preserve the environment of the city.
About twenty hotels have participated in the event organised by MAH. -WY.
