KOTA KINABALU: UMNO Sabah is still very much intact and united, its chairman Datuk Hajiji Noor said.
Referring to a statement published on the front page of a local newspaper, he stressed that they are still carrying out Social and community services as well as other activities in many divisions in Sabah.
He said that the article was a speculative report obviously intended to elicit responses that will further sensationalize political issues in Sabah and excite politically-charged Sabahans.
“The editor’s choice of harsh words were also intended to hit UMNO below the belt,” he stated.
In a statement released today, he said it is unfair to use harsh words to criticise UMNO, as UMNO has contributed so much to Sabah and its people.
“UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) has developed and brought much prosperity to people in the State regardless of their political ideologies, races and religious beliefs,” he stressed.
“GE14 is over. We should now focus on our daily work, more so with the current challenging economic situation in this country. Everyone in Sabah should work together to help make this country great again. We need to get our priorities right.”-By LSK/BNN
