BONGAWAN: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) takes the same position as Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan to oppose the issuance of the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) in the interest of Sabah and its people.

Speaking after a visit to Kg. Kelatuan, Mile 6 Kimanis, PBS vice-president, Datuk Johnny Mositun, said the party would not be deterred in any way, including by threats or inducements, to change its stance on the matter.
He said the people could see through the Warisan-PH agenda clearly, and now it was resorting to gimmicks and distorting facts to hide it’s hidden agenda.

“ See how they are confusing the people with so-called ‘proof’ that PSS is a continuation of the former government’s implementation of the recommendations by the RCI on illegal immigrants in Sabah. They are saying it is not their idea,” Mositun said.
Describing Chief Minister Shafie Apdal’s challenge to Pairin to sue if he felt offended at being called a liar for denying that he (Pairin) was the one who had recommended PSS as being childish and vindictive, Mositun said such theatrics were only for show and to detract from the real issue.

“ This sort of ‘jaguh kampung’ antics are only to avoid answering questions with hard facts and legal and constitutional provisions to back their claims and assurances that PSS is good for Sabah and will in no way pave the way for these thousands of foreigners to eventually acquire citizenship,” Mositun said.

He said Shafie, instead of engaging detractors lin proper, rational debate with facts and reason was only attempting to attribute the PSS to Pairin and the former BN administration in a pathetic and shameless manner to deflect anger the Warisan-PH state government over the issue ,

“ He deliberately dug up notes of the Management Technical Committee on Immigrants Meeting chaired by Pairin on 14 March 2016 to mislead the people. That meeting only recorded the recommendations from the various government Department and Agency Heads to the Main Committee for consideration and action. It was the prerogative of the Main Committee headed by the then Chief Minister to act on all or any of those recommendations and findings in part or whole. Pairin’s responsibilities ended there,” Mositun pointed out.

According saidto him,  the Resident Pass recommended by the meeting in question was not PSS, and it was intended for refugees, not illegal immigrants.

“ No where is it indicated that cards of three-years tenure, renewable infinitely are recommended,” Mositun said.
Mositun said that Warisan’s lies were exposed with Shafie saying one thing and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman. saying another.

“ See how Shafie said PSS holders would be confined within Sabah but Azis now says these PSS holders can go to Peninsular Malaysia for a period of one month. Neither has responded to demands for an explanation of why they had earlier mentioned 600,000 PSS cards will be issued and now they are saying only 136,055 will be given out,” Mositun said. -pr/BNN
