KOTA KINABALU: Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS)joins the call by Inanam State Assemblyman Kenny Chua in calling the government to investigate the statement by Datu Akjan on the issue of native in Sabah.
In a statement by it’s President Datuk Wilfred Bumburing he said on the surface the statement seem to be simple and straight forward.
He however contended that there is a larger and far reaching underlying motive in the statement.
According to him, it points to plot for a reverse take over of Sabah by immigrants who had acquired identity cards by various means.
” Not satisfied that they possessed these card they now claim to be native of the land. By basic meaning and common sense a native is somebody who by ancestral lineage is born in the said land.”
What ever is written on paper, either in the constitution or any law, the fact remains that the definitive native of Sabah is known historically, he stated.
” Datu Akjan refers to the constitution. I want to ask where Datu Akjan was when the constitution was drafted by the founding fathers of Sabah. Also if Datu Akjan claims to be native why did he crowned himself as the rightful Sultan of Sulu.”
” This is tantamount to high treason and at the least a breach of the constitution of Malaysia by him have dual citizenships,” he stated.
“Nevertheless what the constitution refers to are the people who were in Sabah prior to independence not those who came to Sabah illegally,” he said adding that apart from the real native of Sabah there are Suluks, Bajau Ubian, Sibutu, Simunul and Kagayan.
“There are also Dayaks, Chinese, Europeans, Indians, Malays and others. They never claimed that they are natives of Sabah though by operation of law and in the spirit of independence they are citizens of Sabah,” he stressed.
The real native of Sabah had been living for so long in great harmony and no body had ever proclaim to be the first class native of Sabah until people like Datuk Akjan who came to Sabah later proclaims that they are first class natives, he said.
*The reason why Datuk Akjan and the likes are so bold in making ridiculous claims is the inaction of the government in carrying out their duty to protect the sovereignty of the state.”
“The rejection of PSS by the people of Sabah, was manifested in the loss of Warisan in Kimanis by- election. It portrayed how the people stand to protect their rightful place in the state. I am sure real citizens of Sabah will unite to reject the “ native” claim by Akjan.”
He commended Kenny Chua for having the courage to speak up his mind even though he is in the government.
“How we wish other leader in the government do the same instead of keeping quiet to maintain their political correctness for fear of losing their job. The fight to protect Sabah is not the job of a few but a moral obligation of every body who love the state.”-pr/BNN
