KOTA KINABALU: Due to the Covid19 pandemic medical personnel had surged to the forefront in trying to handle the situation.
Subsequently, a 28 days Movement Restrictions Order (MCO) by the Malaysian Government was announced and police personnel and the army were ordered to the front, to ensure that the public adhere to the Order so that they would not be infected by the virus and also contribute to its dispersion.
In conjunction with this situation, non-governmental organisations (NGO) came out to lend assistance to these personnel who had to be in the frontline, by according them foodstuff and daily essentials, among others.
One of the groups was from IFS Technology sdn bhd. This company which owns several other businesess presented foodstuff and essentials to the medical team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1.
According to IFS director Allen Tsang, they had presented 100 packages of these items to hospital personnel along with six of his staff.
He said they also contributed 50 packages to Police and Army personnel respectively, at the roadblocks where they were on duty.
“We also presented 50 packages of these items to a ‘Sukarelawan Belia’ of an NGO. They informed us that they will distribute the items to the needy,” he stated.
He said the recipients expressed their thanks and gratitude to this group when they received the goods.
According to Allen this was one of the various charity works his company carried out. They also carried out charity contributions to the old Folks Home and the Sabah Society for the Deaf among others, annually.
He said they have been carrying out such events since they started the company.-BNN
