KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Bersatu youth does not support the official stand of the Armada central which has decided to reconcile and return to working together with Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Sabah Armada Chief, Encik Isquzawan Israq Datuk Seri Arsit, said Sabah Armada strongly reject the stand of the central youth wing because many of the Armada division chiefs were not informed about its plan to make a stand on the very crucial issue.
“Sabah Armada’s stand is to disagree with the decision made by the Armada central because it was not decided at an Armada Central Exco Special Meeting.
“Instead, the special meeting as stated in the press statement by Bersatu Armada Malaysia is actually a meeting for coordinating the distribution of Armada assistance in conjunction with Ramadhan 2020 and a meet with Bersatu Chairman Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad,” he said in a statement today.
He was commenting on the statement by Bersatu Armada Malaysia which stated the wing’s stand to reject UMNO and return to PH.
In the statement, the Armada Malaysia meeting participants have stated its stand as follow;
i. Fully supporting the stand of BERSATU Chairman .YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to not collaborate with UMNO.
ii. Returning the people’s mandate as had been given during the 14th General Election and back to work with Pakatan Harapan.
He said the decision was made based on the votes during the meeting and agreed by more than 2/3 of those who participated in the meeting and the rest did not make a decision without anyone objecting.
Isquzawan said Sabah Armada fully support the leadership of Bersatu President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the Prime Minister.
“Sabah Armada’s stand is clear that we always stand behind the party’s President and that during the current political development we will not make enemy with any parties that supports PN,” he said.
Isquzawan was not present during the said meeting for coordinating the distribution of Ramadhan assistance held at the Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana, Putrajaya, Wednesday, because of the Movement Control Order (MCO) as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. – pr/BNN
