PUTATAN: With winnable candidates, BERSATU can win the Petagas State Legislative Assembly seat said its division Chief Datuk Arsit Haji Sedi, during this coming election.
Speaking to reporters after Putatan BERSATU party conference at Petagas today, he said if he is named the Bersatu candidate for the constituency he is confident that he can grab the seat for the party.
According to him, there are about 11,000 voters in the constituency and judging by previous elections, about 80 percent or 9000 voters will cast their votes.
Presently they have about 3000 members in that area and he believes he just needed a couple of thousands more to ensure he has the seat, which is not difficult due to an abundance of friends and relatives in that area.
He said they planned to open at least 100 branches through the constituency as opposed to 160 set up by Barisan Nasional but he did not think that is a caveat on him winning adding that he has been in politic for many years and can evaluate situation well and he believes that with good representation and perseverance, he can do well.
“If I am elected I will make sure needy (kebajikan) voters are taken care of. I want to make sure that these group of people have access to good and affordable housing. Since Petagas is short on land, we will look into high-rise buildings but with good recreation access and comfortable to live in,” he said.
in Petagas, employment is crucial and ‘we are taking steps to make sure that the people here are gainfully employed with access to business opportunities’ he stressed, adding that he urges the people especially youth to look into business ventures, even at stalls and similar establishments so that they have good income.
He mentioned about the mega project planned for Dumpil Bay stressing that this can ensure that Putatan will become a thriving city like Kuala Lumpur in future.-BNN
