SANDAKAN: The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) will propose to the Local Authorities here to rearrange the mini bus parking area near Centre Point Mall in Sandakan town.
Sabah CVLB chairman Dato’ Chin Kim Hiung said to media after conducting a site inspection with CVLB Sandakan officer-in-charge Mohd Soffian Eting recently.
“We will submit a proposal to the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) Traffic sub-committee on the matter as the current parking arrangement is causing inconvenience to road users plying the narrow strip of the road,” Chin said.
From our observation, motorists exiting the Menara MPS multi-storey carpark are experiencing difficulty to make a right turn into the main road because of mini buses parked adjacent the building, Chin he added.
CVLB is seeking the consideration of MPS to rearrange the existing parking area designated for mini buses or relocate to an alternate location spot by in the interest of all related parties, Chin said.
Chin explained that he and other CVLB Sandakan officers visited the mini bus parking area to look into the traffic situation following public complaints.-pr/BNN
