（吉隆坡4日讯）华总会长丹斯里吴添泉希望新任教育部长能够化解纠扰国民型小学多时的爪夷文单元课题，同时确保政府尽速兑现承认统考的承诺。 他说，自新政府执政的过去20个月来，教育部长从未和国内主要华教团体就华教课题进行会面交流，也没有答应华教团体就华教和教育课题提出的会面要求。 他因此希望新任教长能够尽早与国内主要华教团体展开交流，弥补这方面缺憾的同时，也聆听华教问题，并给予必要的协助。 他今天在文告中，希望首相敦马哈迪医生委任一位“全民的教育部长”，能够聆听来自全民针对教育课题提出的意见和看法，并亲自接见各民族教育团体，通过集思广益来发展国家及全民教育。 “我国是一个多元种族、文化和教育组成的国家，宪法下给予各民族自由接受和发展本身母语教育的基本权益，不论是由谁主政或执行，这个特征都必须获得保留。” 针对马智礼前天在首相的劝告下于昨天正式卸任教育部长，吴添泉表示惊讶和不欲猜测个中原因，惟尊重其决定的同时，也寄予祝福。 他也对马智礼国会议员在出任教长期间，对改革与发展国家教育所作出的努力和贡献表示感激和赞扬，并形容他在这方面的功绩是不容抹杀的。 他说，全民与华社对新任教长充满期许，并相信首相将能够委任拥有这方面专长和魄力者来领导教育部，继续推进马智礼尚未完成的教育改革计划。-pr/BNN “教育是树人大计，也是国富民强之本，对新任教长而言，肯定是项任重道远的工作。”
