KOTA KINABALU: It is important to maintain the originality and authenticity of the famed Tanjung Aru beach, not just keeping the name but the real essence and heritage value of it.
SAPP deputy president, Richard Yong said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has made a wise move to protect beach and the park by scaling down the TAED project and include people’s interest, on top of the sustainability and green initiatives.
“It has always been SAPP’s main concern since the inception of the TAED project that the public’s right and accessibility to the beach and Prince Philip park must be protected and made easy.
He said, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) walks the talk, the latest progress of TAED is inline with the strategy of Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan (https://www.sabahmajujaya.my/
“Kota Kinabalu’s ever increasing population is in need of more open space, parks and recreational facilities for the public to promote healthy and sustainable living,” he added.
Richard said some of the existing facilities in open spaces other than Tanjung Aru beach also urgently need maintenance and upkeep.-pr/BNN
