KOTA KINABALU:  The month of Ramadan will be a gastronomic  adventure for food lovers and for the fasting community as well at the Magellan Sutera.

Launched by the Minister of Tourism Datuk Jaffry Arifin, on the second day of the fasting month, the array of food is so mind-boggling that diners can be spoiled for choice.

The promotion which starts at 6pm daily offers various stalls with countless spread that guarantee a satisfying experience. One is literally greeted with the sumptuous offerings as there is a live-cooking stall outdoor at the main entrance. The stalls there offer Mongolian Tepanyaki, Fried Noodles and all time Malaysian favourite, satays.

The Indian food corner offers Chicken Tandoori and Channa Masala. Be sure to grab a serving of Sup Tulang Rawan before heading for that delectable Lemang with Chicken Serunding.

In the main buffet table are another elections of Malaysian fusion food such as the Three Flavoured Chicken, Slide Beef with Ginger, Roasted Lamb with Rosemary and Mint sauce and Beef Sharwama.

Right near the mains are the pizzas and pastas. They are worth a few return trips, although one should really check the salad first. The arrays of salads are sumptuous and so filling that one can just break one’s fast there, and be done for the evening.

However there are many more food to taste and enjoy such as the assortment of kuih. There are the Pengat Pisang, Kuih Bahulu, Seri Muka and Kuih Lapis among others.
Dint stop there yet, desserts are a-plenty where one can enjoy scrumptious sweet stuff such as Bubur Cha-Cha, Bread Butter Pudding with vanilla Sauce and Pengat Pisang. The traditional Ice Kacang and ice cream with condiments of one’s choice are also worth sampling.

Other items in the menu are Kambing Kurma, Prawns and Mussels on Ice, Thai Beef Salad, Sambal Sotong dengan Petai, Singgang Ikan, Ikan Tenggiri Asam Pedas and Tom Yam Prawn Noodles.

So for those who wish to break their fast with Juadah Keluarga Malaysia, go to  the Grand Ballroom of The Magellan Sutera Resort, which starts at 6am and ends at 10pm daily.

It is priced at RM138.00nett for adults and RM70.00nett for children (4-11 years old), the promotion requires advance bookings. Just state your voucher number when making a reservation and bring along the original voucher when you come to this exciting experience.

If you come in a group of 10, you will only have to pay RM124.00nett for adults and RM63.00nett per child (4-11 years old). For SHMGC and SPP members, if you present your membership card upon arrival, you will also enjoy a 20% discount (no bonus will be given), while hotel guests are entitled to a 10% discount.
