TAWAU: Pertubuhan Kebajikan Santun Kasih Sabah (Persantun) president Datuk Najib Tay Abdullah has joined Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) led by the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
Najib said the reason he joined Gagasan Rakyat was because the party’s political ideologies and goals are aligned with his own beliefs.
He believed that Gagasan Rakyat as a multiracial party would improve the wellbeing of Sabahans and create development opportunities in the state.
He also urged the Chinese community in Sabah to support the local party and back Hajiji’s leadership of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to pursue better interests.
Najib said Gagasan Rakyat under the GRS alliance has made significant milestones in creating an inclusive environment with the aim to achieve progress for Sabah, and the party has certainly shattered previous doubts on its relevance.
He said the GRS brings the strengths of all races together in driving the economic development of Sabah.
Najib continued to say that Hajiji is instrumental in accelerating the developments in Sabah.
Under the Chief Minister’s helm, he said Gagasan Rakyat has proven to be attuned to the needs of the Chinese community and is committed to bringing progress to Sabah.
Najib hoped that his addition to Gagasan Rakyat will complement the party’s political resources and talents.
“Under the multiracial and inclusive political alliance, Gagasan Rakyat will be able to realize economic growth and social progress for Sabah.”-pr/BNN
