KOTA KINABALU: The 1st of May is the beginning of the Harvest Festival Celebration in Sabah.
The celebration will be held for the whole month throughout the State where each district will carry out several interesting events including the Harvest Festival Beauty Pageant. The winner from each district will vie for the crown during the State Level Harvest Festival celebration, usually held at the KDCA complex.
During this time celebrants will come together to eat and drink, to celebrate the end of harvest. Food and drinks will abound.

Diners will enjoy the  opusas platter which contain seafood hinava, local montoku shots (4 shots), latok (seaweed), jeruk tuhau, jeruk bambangan, paku pakis salad with chilies and anchovies and Sabahan grilled pork belly.
You will also enjoy the  basung bambangan goreng; basung bambangan pinasakan; lihing pork soup; and pork bambangan chili pizza.
These are available for the Kaamatan special, but of course diners can order other items in the ala carte menu to augment their number of the dishes available.
Those who wish to celebrate Parents’ Day can also look up 5th Avenue Cafe & Bistro and treat their parents to a sumptuous meal.
