KOTA KINABALU: The Lions Clubs of Kota Kinabalu, including KK Asia City, KK Damai, KK Downtown, KK Lintas, KK Vintage, and Papar Host, came together today to host a remarkable Peace Poster Contest.

The event, which took place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kian Kok Middle School in Kota Kinabalu, was a resounding success with 37 enthusiastic participants from various schools.

Under the theme “Dare to Dream,” this contest aimed to inspire young individuals, aged 11, 12, or 13 as of November 15, to channel their dreams of a peaceful world into tangible reality.

The schools participating in the event included Chung Hwa Likas, Chung Hwa KK, Shan Tao, Kian Kok Middle School, and KK High School, with Kian Kok Middle School generously serving as the venue sponsor, graciously supported by Principal Goh Teck Seng.

The Lions Clubs of Kota Kinabalu have a longstanding commitment to promoting peace and understanding within the community, and today’s event was a testament to their dedication.

The international Peace Poster Contest, recognized globally, engages young minds in envisioning a harmonious world.

Organising Chairperson Sunny Chai, from Lions Club of KK Downtown, expressed, “This contest has been a true celebration of the dreams and creativity of our young participants. We believe that these posters are not just pieces of art; they are symbols of hope and a brighter future. In attendance at this significant event were several Lions dignitaries, including Region 7 Chairperson Rekha Notaney, Region 6 Chairperson Anny Poh, Zone 17 Chairperson Margaret Chong, Zone 16 Chairperson Frank Leong, and Presidents and members of all the participating clubs.

Their presence highlighted the importance of the Peace Poster Contest and its role in promoting peace and understanding within the community.
