KOTA KINABALUl In a remarkable achievement, the Lions Club has surpassed its fundraising target and announced plans to extend its support to additional projects, aiming to aid more individuals in need. The organization joyfully revealed the handover of a generous RM104,338 cheque to various project leaders. These funds were raised during the Lions Club fundraising bazaar held in October 2023.
In a statement, they stated that the substantial sum would be allocated towards critical community initiatives and projects. Moreover, the remaining balance from the bazaar funds will be distributed to deserving causes by January 2024, further demonstrating the profound impact achievable when like-minded individuals unite for a common cause.
Lauding the success of the bazaar, Lion Club Secretary of Papar Host, Oc, expressed her gratitude to the participating clubs, including Lions Club of Asia City, KK Capital, KK Central, KK City, KK Damai, KK Downtown, KK Lintas, KK Star City New Century, Papar Host, Ranau, Keningau Downtown, KK Vantage, Labuan Mandarin, KK Mandarin, KK Sutera, and Tanjung Aru. Oc acknowledged their unwavering support in organizing the event, which contributed to its resounding success.
The Lions Club bazaar showcased an inspiring collaboration between 22 organizations, including 17 Lions Clubs, JCI Tanjung Aru, Deus Diving Club, Sabah Fruits and Farmers Association, Airport in Shanghai 1950, and the Next Wrap. With one project alone raising funds to support eight meaningful initiatives, financial aid was also extended to the Lion Ambulance and Sabah Kidney Society. The event exemplified the Lions’ commitment to serving their communities, embodying their motto, “We Serve,” and highlighting their belief that “where there is a need, there is a Lion.” Lions, We Serve!
