KOTA KINABALU: The Head of State Tun Musa Aman paid his last respects to Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur following his passing yesterday evening.
“My wife and I express our heartfelt condolences to the family of Allahyarham Tun for their loss. His demise is a great loss for the nation too,” he said.
Tun Abdullah or fondly known as Pak Lah to many was a true statesman who dedicated his life to public service and nation building as Malaysia’s Fifth Prime Minister.
“I remember as Sabah Chief Minister then, he took over the country’s leadership and went on to achieve a historic victory in the 11th General Election. Despite certain issues and challenges during his administration, he always put the nation’s interest and the people’s welfare first.”
“Pak Lah was an approachable leader and dignified in his leadership, having a preference for quiet diplomacy over public political repartee. Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return. May Allah SWT grant Allahyarham Tun’s soul Jannat-ul-Firdaus.”-pr/BNN
