KOTA KINABALU: The residents along Jalan Sembulan Baru/Lama at Kg Sembulan have expressed thanks to Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Seri Christina Liew for replacing a broken 220-foot long wooden bridge with a new one in the village.
“Terima kasih, YB (Thank you, YB),” they said during a visit by Liew to inspect the newly-completed bridge and look at other infrastructure in a state of disrepair on Monday.
According to Kg Sembulan Chief Coordinator for Api-Api Constituency, Muhammaad Faizelee Sabli, certain groups had visited the village previously and taken measurements of the dilapidated bridge for repair work but to no avail.
“I am happy that the villagers have built a new bridge in the spirit of gotong royong. Earlier, the new Api-Api Community Development Leader (Theresa Chong Mui Lan) had inspected the broken bridge and made a report to me for the necessary action.
“We will address other needs of the residents as and when necessary,” said Liew, who was accompanied by Chong.-pr/BNN
