KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Dato’ Chin Kim Hiung explained that the delay in the disbursement of the RM600 cash aid to school bus drivers in the State was due to errors in filling the online application form.

According to Chin, school bus operators were provided a link to fill the application form online themselves but due to errors and incomplete details, CVLB officers took time to assist applicants in updating the forms, before submitting to the relevant authorities to process.

“Sabah School Bus Operators Association chairman Lee Man Keong took the initiative to contact me to enquire about the delay almost two weeks ago and I had clarified the matter with him,” Chin said.

Chin said unfortunately, he was informed by his officers that nobody had contacted the Sabah CVLB office in Kota Kinabalu to ask about the status of their applications.

“Rest assured, we are currently waiting for the funds to be channeled to us for distribution to all eligible applicants and the delay is due to errors in filling the form online,” he continued.

CVLB would have provided the explanation to the applicants if they had called to make enquiries without having to go through a third party, he explained.

Chin invited applicants to contact either him or his officers if they required further clarifications. They and elected representatives could always come to see him at his office for him to explain it to them in person, he added.-pr/BNN
