KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) has urged the people to fully support and comply with the government’s decision to extend the Movement Control Order (MCO) to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its President, Tan Sri T.C Goh underscored that this is crucial and necessary, so that the nation could get out of the woods, as soon as possible, besides easing the heavy burden currently faced by the frontliners.

He noted that for the past one year, the frontliners had been working around the clock to keep everyone safe, hence the people too should strive to do their part to help ease the tremendous burden faced by the frontliners.

He further noted that, due to a worsening pandemic, many Chinese frontliners have to hold their forts, and are thus unable to return home to celebrate Chinese New Year with their families.

“Such a selfless dedication is indeed praiseworthy,” he said.

Goh who is also President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) expressed this during the handing over of some essential medical items and Mandarin oranges to medical forntliners in the state here, today.

The said contribution in recognition and appreciation of the selfless dedication of the medical frontliners includes 40 boxes of essential items like Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), surgical masks, medical face masks, hand and foot gloves, besides 20 cartons of Mandarin oranges. They were received by State Health Director, Datuk Dr Christina Rundi. Also in attendance were FCAS vice presidents, Datuk Alexander Lo Su Hyen, Kapitan Fung Chun Fatt, Lim Vun Chan and Shirley Wong, its secretary-general Datuk Yong Soo Pin and Ng Shi Chung.

Goh also expressed his gratitude to Huazong and its Sarawak counterpart for their contributions to the Sabah medical frontliners via FCAS.-pr/BÑN
